After the summer holidays are over, freelancers return to their coworking spaces with fresh ideas and new projects. Here’s a small selection of some upcoming events on around the world that have coworking or freelancing at their core.

Coworking Day Switzerland, Zurich

Although coworking has been long established in Switzerland, there hasn’t been too many regular events for the community. Now the Sommerlab, a project of Betahaus Zürich, is organizing a Swiss Coworking Day, with guest speakers and food on offer for CHF 20.

Start-up Camp, Atlanta

Semantic Seed is a Silicon Valley-based incubator which calls itself a “hybrid of coworking and idea acceleration”. It aims to help people with ideas turn them into real businesses by hosting workshops all over the place, this one being in Atlanta. Startup Camp involves you bringing your ideas, then having them workshopped over 56 hours with a room full of experts.

The event is hosted at ATDC, which offers an open office to entrepreneurs who need somewhere to drop in and get work done. For a more permanent working situation, you can also rent a desk in their SeedSpace, which they claim is “somewhat like coworking, but really startups at work”.

Coworking Hackday, Berlin

Berlin’s co.up coworking space has created a very practical event for any space operators or users who want to improve the infastructure of coworking. The Coworking Hackday is 24 hours of hands-on reconceptualization about coworking. Bring along a demonstration or idea, and contribute to the mutual learning process. Starting on August 27, the Hackday runs overnight until the 28th. Some demonstrations already listed: open a coworking space as member with your phone & brew your own Club Mate, a very popular soft drink in Berlin. Admission is free.
